Have you heard that the military is eying a former Cold War mountain bunker as ‘shield’ against EMP attack? Apparently new concerns are being raised about the vulnerability of the electrical grid and critical infrastructure to an EMP. Click here

Speaking of the electrical grid, did you know that it is now easier then ever to become self sufficient when it comes to electricity, or at least less dependent upon an outside source? Tesla's Elon Musk has come up with a "money-saving home battery backup system". Click here

If the power does completely go out, Chinese designers have developed a "Bike Washing Machine" which is basically a pedal-powered cloths washer. Apparently it's still in the prototyping phase so these can't be purchased just yet. Click here

There's more but I will leave the rest for you to discover and enjoy. Don't forget to support our advertisers!

Something Worth Knowing

Military Readies Mountain Fortress to “Shield Against EMP Attack”

They are ready. Are you? The government powers-that-be are preparing for continuity under any conditions. The potential for an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) event that could wipe out the electric grid, and with it the society that is dependent upon it, is considered by security experts to be inevitable and perhaps likely in the short term.

Tesla's Elon Musk introduces 'beautiful' money-saving home battery backup system

Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk on Thursday officially announced two battery backup products, one for homes and one for industrial use, at an event at the company's Southern California design studio. The lithium-ion battery modules can store electricity from solar panels and serve to balance loads from the grid, charging up during non-peak energy usage hours, then providing energy to a home or facility during peak hours. Homeowners will be able to get the module called the Powerwall, which Tesla will sell in 7- and 10 kilowatt-hour modules. Musk said that certified installers could buy the smaller pack for $3,000 and the larger pack for $3,500. (UK and Australian details were not announced.)

Now THAT'S a spin cycle! Exercise bike washes your dirty laundry as you pedal
Finding the time to exercise when you've got heaps of housework - and laundry - piling up can be difficult, but this piece of gym kit means you've got no excuse not to work up a sweat. Chinese designers have developed an contraption called the Bike Washing Machine that contains a washing machine drum in its front wheel. When ridden, the pedalling motion causes the drum to rotate, churning your clothes inside like a traditional washer. A generator inside the bike also creates electricity which can be stored for future use. The designers, based at Dalian Nationalities University, do not say whether the bike will automatically fill and drain with water too. Instead, the detergent and water may need to be added and then drained before more water being added for a rinse cycle. They say, however, that the device could be a solution for those who want both a washing machine and an exercise bike but cannot find space for both. Alternatively it could also help shave a few pounds off your electricity bill by using pedal power to do the laundry. The invention could also find use in remote areas where people do not have access to reliable supplies of electricity.

The Department of Ecology wants a meter on your well
Learn the real truth behind what the Department of Ecology is telling people about water.

A water hydrology power point presentation will be held at the Washington Farm Bureau Harvest Room, 975 Carpenter Road NE, Lacey WA, 98516 on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Steven Neugebauer, a preeminent expert on water science and water hydrology will speak on water rights, water science, and why Washington State property owners are being deceived by the Washington State Department of Ecology through the use of pseudoscience and the manipulation of data. The Washington State Department of Ecology is in the process of enacting regulations statewide to reduce the amount of water used by citizens. Kittitas County has a new ordinance limiting water usage to 350 gallons per day WITH A METER REQUIRED for new construction. Similar restrictions are being worked on by the DWR (Ecology) in Clallam, Skagit, Whatcom, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, and Yakima counties. It is only a matter of time before Thurston County follows suit and includes existing wells.

San Diego fills fishing lake with drinking water, despite drought
Despite a massive, multi-year drought in California, one city is choosing to use potable water for recreation. San Diego has pumped tens of millions of gallons of drinking water into a lake to maintain its sole use of recreational fishing. Chollas Lake is a 16-acre basin of water in southeastern San Diego with no natural source of water. Since at least 2008, the city has been pumping drinking water into the reservoir, which is used for fishing by children 15 and under, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. San Diego has said that it would not stop the practice until the city entered a stage 2 water emergency. Currently, it is only in a level 2 drought alert. It received that designation in October. The city is in the process of creating a drought-control plan, which is expected to be finalized in the coming days, a city parks and recreation spokesman told U-T San Diego. City officials would not release any details about how much water has been pumped into the lake recently. As of 2008, the city pumped about 53 million gallons of water into the lake each year, which cost San Diego at least $140,000 annually.

Trust in mainstream media plummets: Only 2% of young adults trust the media
Trust in the mainstream media appears to be taking a nosedive, at least among young people. A recent Harvard Institute of Politics poll that queried more than 3,000 people between the ages of 18 and 29 found that only 2 percent of them believe that the media can be trusted to do the "right thing" on a regular basis. The poll found that 88 percent of those polled think that the media only "sometimes" or "never" does the right thing. In fact, a whopping 39 percent said the media "never" does the right thing. This places the media in last place behind Congress, Wall Street and the federal government in terms of trust. High on the list of those who can be trusted are scientists, who came in first place among the 12 institutions the poll listed, with the U.S. military and local police departments claiming second and third place, respectively. After that, in order of best to worst, came the Supreme Court, the United Nations, President Obama, local governments, state governments, Congress, Wall Street, the federal government and finally, the mainstream media.

New Evidence: The Universe Could Be A Huge Projection - A Hologram
Scientists are now presenting new evidence that the Universe could be a huge projection, a hologram! If the Universe is a hologram then you are not real and what you are reading right now is text that doesn't exist. Are you willing to accept such an incredible scenario? Would it matter if you learned that you are just a character in a computer simulation? Would you take life less seriously and stop worrying about your problems? The idea that we are living in the Matrix is seriously considered by several scientists. Ideas are good and theories are even better, but we need more evidence to back up your claims. Let's take a look at the earlier research results. We have previously discussed the subject that our Universe is a gigantic and wonderfully detailed holographic illusion. The idea is astonishing and even disturbing but was pioneered quite a long time ago by two of the world's most prominent scientists: American-born British physicist David Bohm (1917 - 1992), widely considered one of the best quantum physicists of all time and protégé of Albert Einstein and the quantum physicist and a neurophysiologist at Stanford University, Austrian-born, Karl Pribram, who, in fact predicted the holographic nature of perception and memory.
