Delphi Valley (Capitol Forest Foothills)
Another... Verizon Tower

Hello All, Another tower is being put forth in rural residential Thurston County. Even though you may not live in the foothills of Capitol Forest, your help is needed. Verizon has been granted a Special Use Permit to place a 150 foot Monopole Tower in the pristine rural Delphi Valley. The Special Use Permit has been appealed to the Thurston County Board of Commissioners. The Appeal Hearing is December 15th at 4:30pm. An hour or less of your time is greatly needed to attend this Hearing. No public comment can be made at the Hearing, but every person in the room counts on Tuesday. The impact of your presence at this Hearing will be significant to send a message of opposition to this permit. It is imperative at this Hearing to show that not all citizens of the County favor this or other towers in our communities. Please consider taking an hour of your time on your way home or running errands, by attending the Hearing on Tuesday, December 15th beginning at 4:30 pm, Thurston County Courthouse, Building One, Room 280. If the tower is not stopped here, then it would involve bringing the issue to Court-- a long and very expensive process.

Fukushima report declassified: Worse than we were told
Fukushima nuclear power plant is still experiencing major contamination issues nearly five years after the earthquake, tsunami, and subsequent meltdown. A new declassified report from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, written on March 18, 2011 just days after the disaster, sheds light on just how bad it was. We now know that "100% of the total spent fuel was released to the atmosphere from unit 4." According to nuclear expert and whistleblower Arnie Gundersen in an interview with WBAI in New York, unit four contained more cesium "than in all 800 nuclear bombs exploded above ground". Cesium has been linked to thyroid cancer, which is on the increase in the Fukushima area since the tsunami, according to the US National Library of Medicine. The chemical is highly soluble in water and can find its way into foodstuffs that have been prepared in contaminated areas. Another report this week revealed there are more than nine million bags of nuclear material piling up in Japan, according to the Fukushima Prefecture and the Environment Ministry. Anti-nuclear activist Dr Helen Caldicott said during the crisis that if unit four collapsed, she was going to move her family from Boston to the southern hemisphere. The declassified report from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission said the 2011 thyroid dose estimates 'downstream' from Japan in the US were within guidelines "except for Alaska".

Even deep-sea fish are eating our garbage now
Sharks! They’re just like us. Scientists at Barcelona’s Institute of Marine Sciences analyzed the guts of three species of sharks and six species of bottom-dwelling fish in the Mediterranean and found their diets curiously human. Actually, their diets are better than many humans’: Researcher Joan Cartes and his team found that 5 to 6 percent of the fish food came from human sources, and included beef, goat, fruits, and veggies. Microwave burritos were not mentioned in the study.

New Scientist reports: The work is the first to assess the extent to which deep-dwelling fish rely on bounty from above. It was also the first to examine how much of what they ingested was derived from human activity — food jettisoned from ships, plastic rubbish, debris from fishing nets and so on — versus what could be said to be sourced from nature. … Cartes thinks that the same may be happening elsewhere in the world, and so could be an underappreciated factor affecting deep-sea ecology. “I think all deep-sea systems in the world may be exposed to similar impacts,” he says.

British spooks 'could hack into children's toys for spying'
Britain’s intelligence agencies could take over children’s toys and use them to spy on suspects, MPs have been told. Antony Walker of techUK said that anything connected to the Internet could “in theory” be hacked into remotely. The draft Investigatory Powers Bill being considered by MPs would put a legal duty on Internet providers to assist in hacking devices. With a growing number of toys now including Internet software it would be possible for Britain’s spooks to hack them, Mr Walker suggested. He urged the Home Office to define more tightly what "equipment interference” entailed and raised concerns about “smart toys” during an appearance before the Commons science and technology committee. "A range of devices that have been in the news recently, in relation to a hack, are children's toys, that children can interact with," Mr Walker said. "These are devices that may sit in a child's bedroom but are accessible. "In theory, the manufacturer of those products could be the subject of a warrant to enable equipment interference with those devices. "So the potential extent, I think, is something that needs to be carefully considered." Hello Barbie, My Friend Cayla and other talking dolls have reportedly been looked at by security experts in recent months amid concerns.

Angkor Wat Yields Astounding Buried Towers & Spiral Structure
Eight buried towers and the remains of a massive spiral structure created from sand have been discovered at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. The massive structure — almost a mile long — contains a spiral design, with several rectangular spirals that form a giant structure, archaeologists say. "This structure, which has dimensions of more than 1,500 m × 600 m (about 1 mile by 1,970 feet) is the most striking discovery associated with Angkor Wat to date. Its function remains unknown and, as yet, it has no known equivalent in the Angkorian world," Roland Fletcher, a University of Sydney professor, said in a statement put out by the university. Today, the spiral structure is hard to make out on the ground, having been obscured by modern features and vegetation. By examining the mile-long spiral structure and the stone towers, researchers date them back to when Angkor Wat was first built in the 12th century A.D. King Suryavarman II had Angkor Wat built as a Hindu temple to the god Vishnu. The temple has a 213-foot-tall (65 meters) central tower that is surrounded by four smaller towers and a series of enclosure walls. The layout "is considered to correspond with the cosmology of Mount Meru and the surrounding Sea of Milk from which ambrosia was churned by the gods and demons," wrote a research team in an article published this month in the journal Antiquity.

Crystal Blue Cathedrals
By Rene Westbrook

Crystal Blue Cathedrals
Many cultures in the ancient world used nature's inherent technologies to harness the power of the sun, the wind, and oceans to fortify their lifestyles throughout Millennia. Chief among these natural gifts were benefits that came from sunlight, a primal source of Life.  Along with being a powerful deity, the sun also became an indispensable force in regulating our photobiological rhythms and processes through our skin and eyes. In short, suberythemal doses of UV light and its relationship to Vitamin D has had many bio-systemic effects on our bodies since the dawn of time. Through the ages and up to modern medicine, the therapeutic prophylactic benefits of UV radiation have been largely overlooked until now. Advanced studies by scientists working in the fields of chemistry, physics, and molecular biology has given rise to what is called Phototherapy, Armed with repeatable clinical models, these scientists believe this is the right time to elevate the healing power of Blue Light into mainstream medicine.

The Taboo Of Radiation Exposure In Japan: The Social Effects Of Fukushima
It is understood that radiation is physically harmful to those who are exposed to it. However, it is also harmful on a social level. Those who become exposed to radiation form a new class within society, one that is discriminated against and even feared by many ordinary people. This has certainly been the case with the Fukushima nuclear incident. This discrimination is worsened by the government and mainstream media’s treatment of the incident. This essay will discuss the social effects of the Fukushima incident by comparing it with the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It will also explain how the media play into this discrimination and attempt to understand why Japanese society is reacting in such a way. From “the A-bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki” came “a new group of human beings – hibakusha, literally ‘A-bombed persons’”. Hibakusha not only had to deal with radiation sickness and other health-related effects of the bomb(s), but they were also subject to much social discrimination. They lost “educational and professional opportunities”, received “discrimination in marriage and in the workplace”, and became “targets of bullying”. Because they could not get work, they also often found themselves in poverty and many lived in hibakusha slums, physically separated from the rest of society. This discrimination was due to their perception as ‘contaminated’.

Oregon declares state of emergency in 13 counties due to winter storms
Oregon Governor Kate Brown declared a state of emergency in 13 counties late Thursday after days of extreme winds and rainfall caused flooding and landslides in the northwestern part of the state. The affected counties include: Benton, Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington, and Yamhill. The declaration allows the counties to apply for state funding to repair damage, in addition to providing them with emergency response personnel that can respond to communities if local resources are stretched too thin. A series of powerful storms and record rainfall have slammed the state since Monday, causing widespread flooding that has closed roads from Portland to the coast. At least two storm-related deaths have been confirmed by officials. "Heavy rains and wind have required the evacuation of residences, and mudslides and high water have severely damaged or blocked major roadways in these areas of the state,” Governor Brown said in a statement. "The emergency declaration ensures state resources, emergency response personnel, and equipment can be activated to respond to communities in need if their local resources are exhausted."

Saudi Princess Speaks Out Against Chemtrails And Geoengineering
At the recent Istanbul Security Conference (Dec. 3-5), our intrepid citizen journalist Patrick Roddie caught up with a Saudi royal by the full name of HRH Princess Basmah Bint Saud bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud. She more casually goes by the name of Princess Basmah Bint Saud. She is the daughter of King Saud and the granddaughter of King Abdel Aziz, the founder of the modern state of Saudi Arabia. She spoke at the conference on Dec., 5 where she gave a keynote speech. The great thing about this woman is that, from a position of world power, she is speaking out against chemtrails and geoengineering. In her brief talk with Patrick, she described the ongoing geoengineering program as a weapon of mass destruction; a method of slow poisoning which threatens all life on Earth. She is aware of what is going on. She is concerned about the biological impacts. She laments the cloud cover generated overhead. She is uneasy about what kind of world we will leave for our children. She has eyes. She sees. She has a brain. She thinks. About this, how can one remain silent?

Something Worth Knowing

Wine + Penny = Problem Solved! Chemistry Hack Saves Old Wine
Good news, wine lovers: You can revive a stale bottle of your favorite vintage with a simple chemistry experiment. More good news: It'll only cost you a penny. A new video from the American Chemical Society (ACS) explains how to do this supercheap, wine-saving "life hack" at home. Simply pour a glass of spoiled wine (you'll know it's spoiled if it has a funky, sulfuric smell, akin to burnt rubber or rotten eggs) and drop in a clean copper penny. Be sure to give the penny a good scrub before you toss it in with the wine to clean off any grime. Stir the penny around in the glass; then remove it, and take a sip. If all goes as it should, your penny-infused wine will have lost its rotten-egg tinge. There's a scientific explanation for how this simple trick works. The copper in the penny interacts with thiols, or stinky sulfur compounds, in your glass of wine. The wine has thiols as a result of a common part of the grape-fermentation process known as reduction, in which fermenting grape-juice sugars are kept from interacting with oxygen, the ACS said. Reduction is a complimentary process to oxidation, which involves exposing these same fermenting sugars to oxygen.
