4 Best Methods for Off-the-Grid Food Production
For most of us producing all of our own food is just a fantasy. It evokes visions of multiple acres of fertile land, long work days, and expensive machinery. However, none of these are necessary to achieve self-sufficient food production. There are many gardening techniques that can produce an abundance of food for you and your family without requiring a lot of space, money or equipment. What each of these methods will require is your time, but not the dawn-to-dusk work hours associated with farming.

Genetic Roulette - The Gamble of our Lives

Are you and your family on the wrong side of a bet?
When the US government ignored repeated warnings by its own scientists and allowed untested genetically modified (GM) crops into our environment and food supply, it was a gamble of unprecedented proportions. The health of all living things and all future generations were put at risk by an infant technology. After two decades, physicians and scientists have uncovered a grave trend. The same serious health problems found in lab animals, livestock, and pets that have been fed GM foods are now on the rise in the US population. And when people and animals stop eating genetically modified organisms (GMOs), their health improves. This seminal documentary provides compelling evidence to help explain the deteriorating health of Americans, especially among children, and offers a recipe for protecting ourselves and our future.

Ground under Fukushima Unit 4 sinking, structure on verge of complete collapse
Though the mainstream media has long since abandoned the issue, the precarious situation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power facility in Japan is only continuing to worsen, according to a prominent Japanese official. During a recent interview, Mitsuhei Murata, the former Japanese Ambassador to both Switzerland and Senegal, explained that the ground beneath the plant's Unit 4 is gradually sinking, and that the entire structure is very likely on the verge of complete collapse.

Planet with four suns discovered by volunteers
Astronomers have found a planet whose skies are illuminated by four different suns - the first known of its type.
The distant world orbits one pair of stars which have a second stellar pair revolving around them. The discovery was made by volunteers using the website along with a team from UK and US institutes; follow-up observations were made with the Keck Observatory. A report on the Arxiv server has been submitted to the Astrophysical Journal. The planet, located just under 5,000 light-years away, has been named PH1 after the Planet Hunters site. It is thought to be a "gas giant" slightly larger than Neptune - more than six times the radius of the Earth. "You don't have to go back too far before you would have got really good odds against one of these systems existing," Dr Chris Lintott, from the University of Oxford, told BBC News.

UK experiences 'weirdest' weather
The UK has experienced its "weirdest" weather on record in the past few months, scientists say.
The driest spring for over a century gave way to the wettest recorded April to June in a dramatic turnaround never documented before. The scientists said there was no evidence that the weather changes were a result of Man-made climate change. But experts from three bodies warned the UK must plan for periodic swings of drought conditions and flooding. The warning came from the Environment Agency, Met Office and Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (CEH) at a joint briefing in London. Terry Marsh, from the CEH, said there was no close modern precedent for the extraordinary switch in river flows. The nearest comparison was 1903 but this year was, he said, truly remarkable.

Moody's downgrades world's oldest bank to 'junk'
Moody's credit rating agency on Thursday downgraded the world's oldest bank, Italy's Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, to "junk" status on worries government recapitalisation plans will prove insufficient. The lowering of BMPS's rating by two notches to "Baaa3", a non-investment grade, reflects Moody's view that "there remains a material probability that the bank will need to seek further external support," the agency said.

Matrix Dilemma - Do Humans Live In The Ultimate Computer Game Of The Superior Ones?
It's not science fiction anymore. There's a distinct possibility that the universe, our life, and everything around us are part of a vast, living and 3D holographic simulation conducted by "someone" invisible and superior to everything known in the universe! Is it the ultimate computer game of the superior ones? Ancient thinkers pondered the dilemma - whether the universe that we currently inhabit is a numerical simulation performed by our distant descendants. A vast scientific literature is also devoted to exploration of various aspects of our universe as a computer simulation. Modern scientists seriously ponder a scientific conundrum: Is it all just a perfect extensive simulation; is nothing real? How to find out?

Death Is Just An Illusion: We Continue To Live In A Parallel Universe
For as long as anyone can remember philosophers, scientists and religious men have pondered what happens after death. Is there life after death, or do we just vanish into the great unknown? There is also a possibility there is no such thing as what we usually define as death. A new scientific theory suggests that death is not the terminal event we think. A while ago, scientists reported they found the first evidence of parallel universe. This discovery lead us to a thought-provoking subject called "Biocentrism" Robert Lanza, M.D, scientist, theoretician and author of "Biocentrism" - How Life and Consciousness are the Keys to Understanding the True Nature of the Universe thinks there are many reasons why we won't die. To him death is not the end, as so many of us think. We believe we will die, because that is what we have been taught, Robert Lanza says in his book.

Heaven Is Real: A Doctor’s Experience With the Afterlife
When a neurosurgeon found himself in a coma, he experienced things he never thought possible—a journey to the afterlife.
As a neurosurgeon, I did not believe in the phenomenon of near-death experiences. I grew up in a scientific world, the son of a neurosurgeon. I followed my father’s path and became an academic neurosurgeon, teaching at Harvard Medical School and other universities. I understand what happens to the brain when people are near death, and I had always believed there were good scientific explanations for the heavenly out-of-body journeys described by those who narrowly escaped death.

Remedy of the Week
Elevate Yourself

Stress is a part of every person’s life. In fact, one in five Americans reported feeling “extreme” stress in 2012, according to the American Psychological Association. Whether your stress comes from the home, workplace, or anywhere in between, every person could use a ‘joyful’ boost to help elevate themselves and those around them.

doTERRA’s Elevation Joyful Blend of mood-enhancing CPTG essential oils (lavandin, tangerine, elemi, lemon myrtle, melissa, ylang ylang, osmanthus, and sandalwood) can be used when you are feeling stressed, lethargic, sad, or are in need of something that will help lift your mood.

Use Elevation to promote feelings of self worth, while also helping to lessen feelings of sadness and anxiety. You deserve it. For best results, diffuse into the air or use topically.

Around the Region: Monarch man creates works of art from wood piles
The changing rhythm of the seasons brings with it changes in our daily lives. As autumn takes its hold over central Montana, homeowners exchange their lawnmowers for yard rakes – the snow shovel lies close at hand. On Tillinghast Creek southwest of Monarch, Gary and Marilyn Tallman are preparing to switch from gathering firewood to burning it for the winter’s heat. The even lengths of fir and lodgepole pine, quaking aspen and cottonwood stand neatly stacked along two sides of their house. But as February transitions into March, the Tallmans won’t simply be burning their summer’s labor. The woodpile on the north side of their house is as much a work of art as it is a source of heat.

Practical Skills Yield Magical Results

If you wanted to teach four-year-olds a practical skill like sewing, where would you start? How about with a burlap bag and a simple drawing? That was how students in Pre-K and Kindergarten got their first taste of needlework last week. They copied their drawing onto burlap and followed the pattern with needle and thread. Later, they’ll learn to sew multiple pieces together and make small objects like pillows.

This first attempt “went really well,” says Pre-K facilitator Nancy Driscoll. “I was surprised at how easily they picked up on it. Some of them seemed like they’d done it before, but they haven’t.”
