Before you dive into the “meat” of this week’s newsletter, let me make a suggestion.  Click here and watch a speech by an amazing man.  I really don’t know anything about the politics of Costa Rica, but the message this “gentle man” is delivering will clean your palate.  Oscar Arias calls us to action and instills hope.  I choose to imagine a world in which every country will awaken to prioritize peace and education over power and conflict.  Education is indeed the only cure for poverty.

Stepping down from my soapbox, this might be a good time to fill you in on the latest changes around here at MastersConnection2020.  We have decided to make our classified advertising  for non- business ads FREE on the website.  There will still be a charge for businesses, but if you have an extra bicycle taking up space in your garage, you changed your décor and the old blue couch doesn’t match any longer, this is your chance to advertise it for FREE.  Go ahead, fill up the classified ads with all your stuff—and then browse the ads to find what you need.  Click here

Another idea that we have been working on for some time now is finding an appropriate way to create a memorial page for our friends and loved ones that have passed this plane.  We plan to collect stories and memories of the lives of these people who have touched our lives and continue to inspire us today. We would like your help in naming this new feature.  Of course, we will need your support as well to contribute your memories, thoughts and inspirations.  So, send us your suggestions for a title, please. Now back to the newsletter, Costa Rica quit fighting and American, Daniel Suelo, quit money.  No, really he did, on purpose.  Check it out. Click here

Our article of the week comes to us courtesy of Super, "Power of the Sovereign Spirit”.   It examines the seat of true personal power and how a spiritually alive person exercises it.

We have spent a lot of time and energy investigating the damage a Coronal Mass Ejection could do to our power grid.  Have you ever thought about the vulnerability of the ”smart grid”.  Click here

Although we don’t like to focus on this kind of thing, we do want to make people aware that burglaries seem to be on the rise in rural Thurston and Pierce Counties, Washington.  Be mindful.  Saturday, April 21, is Earth Day. Do something nice for Mother Earth, her blessings are unconditional.

Power of the Sovereign Spirit
Reclaiming Our Sovereignity
Reprinted with permission from

The common understanding of the word “sovereign” brings to mind images of kings, queens and supreme rulers, with all the associated regalia, pomp and circumstance that we have come to know from our television screens. It’s hard to get away from, particularly in Britain where Queen Elizabeth II is a mere 31 places removed in the “senior direct royal line” from French-born William The Conqueror (or William The Bastard as he was known before 1066). With such a long, rich history of hereditary royal dominion, it’s understandable that people can’t help but think of sovereignty as something outside of themselves. But that is starting to change.

For a growing number of people focusing on matters of consciousness, sacred knowledge and personal freedom, the reclamation of the word sovereign has become profoundly consequential. Within this paradigm, to recognize oneself as a sovereign being is to acknowledge one’s own total spiritual autonomy and unconditional entitlement to self-determination. It is a primary avowal of oneself as a free and natural human being — not a serf, a subject, a corporate entity, or even a citizen. No persons or man-made laws have any jurisdiction whatsoever over a sovereign being. This is all very alarming for any empire that secretly prefers its populace to feel toothless.

It’s deceptively tricky for us to comprehend that power is not something that is graciously conferred upon us by the authorities. It is not something that we must work hard to be worthy of. Real power is not something that can be handed over at all: it is something that we already have inside us. It is there from the beginning and it is the ultimate power. It is the power of freewill.

The amount of freewill an individual possesses is directly proportionate to the depth and clarity of consciousness attained. Before it can be fully realized, the very existence of our free will must first be acknowledged. The slumbering mind is not cognizant of the awesome reality-shaping power that lies within its grasp; freewill might just as well be equated with choosing what movies to watch or what shoes to buy. In contrast, the awakened mind is acutely aware of how freewill can transform imaginal visions into manifest things. It is seen as a defining characteristic of the spiritually alive human.

Space Watch

Well, excuuuuse you, Mr. Sun
The sun put on quite a display late Monday evening -- no nothing that you'd notice being outside. But if you had, say, a specifically configured camera out in space that watched the sun 24/7, you would have seen quite the solar eruption.
Lucky for us, NASA has just such a camera -- the Solar Dynamics Observatory that captured what is calling "one of the most visually-spectacular explosions in years."

Eruption Alert Upped in Mexico's Popocatepetl Volcano

Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano releases gas into the atmosphere, as Mexican authorities raise the alert level. The new warning indicates possible magma expulsion and explosions of increasing intensity. But for residents of the small town of San Pedro Benito Juarez, this is nothing new.
Popocatepetl is one of the world's most active volcanoes, and one public security official said those who live nearby are aware of what to do in an emergency.
[Ardelio Vargas, Minister for Public Security in Puebla State]: "So far we have not reached a critical phase of emergency, which is characterized precisely by an evacuation. So the residents are very clear on what to do in case of an emergency. They know how to use their vehicles in the result of an evacuation and where they can go to receive adequate attention."
The volcano has spewed smoke and ash sporadically over the last few years. A major eruption in 2000 forced the evacuation of nearly 50,000 residents.

In Drilling Country, Water Rights Stir Fracking Questions
When a large tanker truck pulls up to a fire hydrant in Greeley, Colo. -- a midsize town on the semiarid Eastern Slope of the Rocky Mountains -- and starts siphoning water from the city's supply, passersby start looking nervous.
Chances are good the tanker is on its way to an oil or natural gas field, where the water will either go to drilling or be injected underground to reach previously inaccessible resources via a process known as hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking."
Such water transfers are becoming an increasingly common sight. But in a region that has battled drought on and off for decades, and where state officials predict there won't be enough water to sustain expected population and agriculture levels in the not-too-distant future, the tankers spark questions about how water is being used.

Storm warning: We're not ready for a super solar blast
To-do list: Upgrade sun-watching satellites, digitize old records, prepare for the worst
Humanity needs to be much better prepared for massive solar storms, which can wreak havoc on our technology-dependent society, a prominent researcher warns.
Powerful blasts from the sun have triggered intense geomagnetic storms on Earth before, and they'll do so again. But at the moment our ability to predict these events and guard against their worst consequences — which can include interruptions of power grids and satellite navigation systems — is lacking, says Mike Hapgood of the British research and technology agency RAL Space.
"We need a much better understanding of the likelihood of space weather disruptions and their impacts, and we need to develop that knowledge quickly," Hapgood, head of RAL Space's space environment group, writes in a commentary in Thursday's issue of the journal Nature.

Finger monkeys...really! Unbelievably cute

They are native to rain-forests of Brazil , Peru , Bolivia , Ecuador and Colombia . (Source: Buzzle)
Finger monkeys are, as a matter of fact, pygmy marmosets.
They are also known by the names "pocket monkey"and "tiny lion".
This cute little primate hugs and grips on to your finger so tight that it pulls your heartstrings and you wish you could take it home with you.
The finger monkey is the tiniest living primate in the world.
It's so small that it can hold on to your finger.
These primates belong to the family Callitrichidae, species Cebuella and genus C. pygmaea.

Physicist writes 4-page paper to argue his way out of a ticket
A University of California, San Diego physicist argued his way out of a $400 traffic ticket by writing a four-page paper purportedly proving that he could not have failed to halt at a stop sign. While it's doubtful anyone in the courtroom fully understood Dmitri Krioukov's abstract, the treatise titled "The Proof of Innocence" apparently made the argument that the officer who gave the ticket had his view briefly blocked, and furthermore, the officer's distorted view of the car had confused him into thinking Krioukov hadn't stopped. Krioukov's paper is available online for anyone who wants to check his math or use it as a template to try to talk their way out of their own moving violation.

Double Vision
In mastering the daytime "action" of my waking reality, it often occurs to me that the movies which scroll unedited at night might be altered states of frequencies bleeding through a thin veil of chaotic tuning.
For the second time in a year, I dreamed of being in the same time and space with myself.  OK, try this one: I occupied the same time and space as another self; me looking at myself, while in the same room.

Iceland forgives mortgage debt of its population

Icelandic Anger Brings Debt Forgiveness in Best Recovery Story
Icelanders who pelted parliament with rocks in 2009 demanding their leaders and bankers answer for the country’s economic and financial collapse are reaping the benefits of their anger.
Since the end of 2008, the island’s banks have forgiven loans equivalent to 13 percent of gross domestic product, easing the debt burdens of more than a quarter of the population, according to a report published this month by the Icelandic Financial Services Association.
“You could safely say that Iceland holds the world record in household debt relief,” said Lars Christensen, chief emerging markets economist at Danske Bank A/S in Copenhagen. “Iceland followed the textbook example of what is required in a crisis. Any economist would agree with that.”

Michigan government unleashes armed raids on small pig farmers, forces farmer to shoot all his own pigs
NaturalNews can now confirm that the Michigan Department of Natural Resources has, in total violation of the Fourth Amendment, conducted two armed raids on pig farmers in that state, one in Kalkaska County at Fife Lake and another in Cheboygan County. Staging raids involving six vehicles and ten armed men, DNA conducted unconstitutional, illegal and arguablycriminalarmed raids on these two farms with the intent of shooting all the farmers' pigs under a bizarre new "Invasive Species Order" (ISO) that has suddenly declared traditional livestock to be an invasive species.

BBC mapPersian invaders of Greece 'did perish in tsunami'
German geologists believe a tsunami recorded by the ancient historian Herodotus did indeed protect a Greek village from Persian invaders.
They say they have found evidence in northern Greece that the event in 479 saved the village of Potidaea.
Herodotus recorded that huge waves had killed hundreds of Persian soldiers during the siege of the village.
The scientists from Aachen University warn the area may experience another massive marine event.
They say that northern coastal regions should be included among the Greek regions prone to tsunamis.
It is usually the southern coast of Greece which is identified as a risk area.

ALEC backpedals, drops social agenda
After years of relative anonymity, the political ground shifted under the American Legislative Exchange Council's feet when George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin. Fairly quickly, Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law became the focus of national security, as did the shadowy group that helped write the law and push it through the legislature.
The ensuing controversy has been less than kind to ALEC, with the organization losing several major corporate sponsors, and the group's larger legislative agenda getting the spotlight for the first time.
With the pressure intensifying, ALEC announced this morning that it's "sharpening" its "focus" to cover economic issues exclusively. That's a nice way of saying it's giving up on social agenda altogether.

Nobel Laureate Óscar Arias: the Power of Demilitarization
Oscar Arias, president of Costa Rica (1986-1990, 2006-2010), won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1987 for his peacemaking efforts in Central America. Without any armed forces, Costa Rica is now a global model for demilitarization and the amazing social benefits it offers.
In this moving speech, Arias endorses the Global Day of Action on Military Spending and encourages people around the world to demand demilitarization as the first step towards achieving true human security and development:

Old Man In Nursing Home Reacts To Hearing Music From His Era

Runners & Mirrors

Greetings from Sportilia-Spinello.
This email of mine is to share a funny experience, as feedback after my participation in the school's Primary Retreat.
The evening of April 13, for the second time since the end of the Primary Retreat, I was in a pizzeria with four other students and, again, that "thing" happened: the lights of the restaurant started to turn off, again and again, and again, for the most part of our dinner. I asked the waitress if it was usual and she told us that it was the first time, with no understandable reason why...

I attended my Beginner’s Retreat in September of 2007. I grew up listening to Ramtha from my mother who had tape and VHS cassets that were rented from a bookstore called Unlimited Thought in San Antonio, Texas.
I should say I never really listened to them, as I attempted NOT to hear a word of it because I thought she was crazy for listening to a channeled being. I would have a shift in thought later on in life.
I moved here from Ohio after finding I was thoroughly unhappy with the way my life was and realizing I had no direction or a clue about life.

Remedy of the Week
Garden Muscles

Every spring I promise to stay more active through the winter, especially when I start gardening. The pain doesn’t really start until the morning after that first long day of bending and stooping, pulling and digging.
The remedy this week is Deep Blue Blend of essential oils. Just spread two or three drops of Deep Blue on your feet before you go to bed. When you wake you will be surprised at what is missing in the morning—pain. Deep Blue really does go deeply into your muscles and tissue to relieve just about any kind of pain.
Deep Blue® is made up of Wintergreen, camphor, peppermint, blue tansy, blue chamomile, helichrysum and osmanthus working together to ease achy joints and sore muscles. Its effects are deep and penetrating with sustained results. Once gently rubbed into the area of discomfort, Deep Blue's cool therapeutic benefit will be felt almost immediately.

Blue Thunder Visits PRS
Phoenix Rising students got an unexpected treat last Tuesday when Blue Thunder, an elder of the Shoshone tribe, dropped by for a visit. Along with his companion Kristine, he talked with the students about communicating with nature and healing the earth.

Here’s what students and staff had to say about his visit:

Cailin: I didn’t know some of the things we were doing were possible, like talking to the trees. He asked, ‘Who hears messages from the trees? Who hears messages from the earth?’ and all these kids were raising their hands. He really showed how everything we do affects the earth. It shows the unity between nature and humans and how we need to respect our environment.

Olivia:  We talked to the earth. It was cool. You could feel the energy from the earth.  I knew that trees and things could talk but I didn’t really know how to communicate with them. He did this seal thing where if someone had broken a branch, you put your hands over whatever it was, like a rock, and then you can talk to it and you say, “seal.”

Jainkoa: It was awesome. It blocks it up so the energy stops leaking out.
