Remedy of the Week - Keep Calm

The High Holidays have begun. I know because they were playing Christmas Carols in Hobby Lobby this afternoon. Going in to Hobby Lobby to buy something I really need is a bit like going to Aunt Maude’s for Thanksgiving dinner. I don’t agree with her politics or her religious ideology, but she sure can cook.

This week I wanted to offer those of you who are going to be spending time with family this season some proactive essential oil remedies to help you avoid emotional upset. These ideas will support you to be the most loving, kind and tolerant you have ever been. You can create the most joyful holiday season ever!

Let’s start with Lemongrass. If you are having guests over and need to “clean up” the place, a couple of drops of Lemongrass will kick your cleaning efforts into high gear. Hoarders, beware. You can’t stop cleaning and getting rid of what no longer serves you.

With the house nice and tidy, you will be ready to receive your guests. On Guard Protective Blend in your diffuser will greet your guest with the scent of the season all the while protecting you from undesirable energies and illness accompanying your invited guests. Don’t let their coughs and sniffles infect your happy holidays.

Every holiday gathering starts out with the best intentions to enjoy each other’s company, but in the event the good times turn tense, go for the uplifting citrus oils. Choose from Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit, Bergamot, or Wild Orange. Wild Orange is the oil of the inner child and gently invites you to play.

In your private moments of observing Christ in mass, anoint your fifth seal with Frankincense and float away. Frankincense is the oil of Divine Father. Myrrh is the oil of Divine Mother. Cover your heart center with Myrrh and experience the connection. (Those ancient Wise Men really were pretty smart)

As your take time to contemplate what you want to create in the year to come. Take inspiration from the exquisite oil, Arborvitae, from the Tree of Life. Arborvitae is the Oil of Divine Grace. According to Daniel McDonald in his book, Emotions and Essential Oils,” Arborvitae assists individuals who believe or act like all progress must be made through struggle and solitary effort. Instead of trusting in the Divine, these individuals unconsciously block Divine aid, choosing instead to live by their own efforts. Arborvitae addresses the need to control one’s outcomes in Life. It invites individuals to live with peace and joy by trusting in the abundant flow of Divine grace. Arborvitae is also a grounding oil which teaches that Divinity is all around us. It asks individuals to relax, take a deep breath, and assists the soul to live effortlessly by Divine grace.

Essential oils are truly a gift of the earth. Let them help you create Peace of Earth this holiday season.
