Recently I was ease dropping on an online conversation about Peppermint Oil. I thought you might find it interesting, I did. Sounds like a great oil to have in medical preparedness kit.
Lynn: What do you use Peppermint for? Do you have a success story to tell? Please be specific about how much you use/used, where applied and how often. Thanks.
Chris: Headaches. Couple drops in about 8-12 oz of water, and it's gone within a couple of minutes. by "headache," I’m not talking some minor annoying throbbing; I'm talking the full-on, suicidal tendencies-types of tension headaches that settle at the base of the back of your skull and make you pray for death. Having been on Percocet and Lortab for these, peppermint oil is an absolute God-send. Not only do I not get ridiculously drowsy and can't function for literally days, but I get the added bonus of being MORE alert and awake.
It tastes really good in white chocolate fudge, too. Just a suggestion. :)
Mandie: Sunburn: A few drops in a spray bottle of water—very cooling.
Rusty: Got to hot outside a few days ago. Started getting a heat headache. Came in and took a glass of water with 2 drops peppermint and drank it slowly. I started cooling off and the heat headache went away.
Wills: One of my friends bought peppermint for her daughter who is in high school. The daughter has had terrible headaches since she was a little girl, and is always taking painkillers so they have been looking for a solution so she doesn't kill her liver. Peppermint is it! She uses a bit on her temples whenever she feels a headache coming on, and is able to keep them at bay - she hasn't used a painkiller since getting the peppermint. The best part is she couldn't have her painkillers in school - they wouldn't even dispense them to her, so when she got a headache she would have to call her mom to come bring her something, and usually by the time her mom got there it was so bad she had to go home and rest. Now, she can carry her peppermint with her, and has no problems! Love this stuff :-)
Lessa: The best use of peppermint... "poop spray" several drops in water in a spray bottle in the bathroom clears the room of the worse smells.
