Volunteers needed!

An opportunity to reach out to your community with your heart and your hands. Thursday, January 26 from 1-4 pm, at the Lions Club/ Carlson Cabin 301 W Yelm Ave

This will be an afternoon of support and giving to our neighbors who find themselves, for whatever reason, living in “sub-standard” living conditions. These conditions can range from living without electricity, running water, flush toilets or homeless.

We are hoping for a large turnout so that the needs of the greater Yelm community can be surveyed and understood. The larger the participation, the more funds will be allocated to help our neighbors in need in future projects and services.

At this event we will also be providing gift bags for the attendees. We are taking donations for those gift bags. Items like gift cards, warm socks, pet food, tarps, duct tape, batteries, can-openers, toiletries, blankets, etc. Of course, cash donations would help us buy these items as well.

If you provide a service and would like to volunteer your time on Jan 26, we would love to have your energy. We would like to provide services such as hair cutting, massage, health screenings, employment services, or other creative services that you can contribute.

So many of us have friends who are living in less than ideal housing situations. Living in travel trailers or tents without electricity or running water. Perhaps you could reach out to them, invite them to join us for a warm cup of chili, a hand massage and a goody bag. That’s January 26, 1-4pm at 301 W Yelm Ave.
